Arriving back in stock around 19th July and available for pre order now.
A pack of four thin sashiko needles from Tulip, 'Hiroshima' needles are ideal for all your sashiko and boro stitching. Suitable for fine or medium sashiko threads. These are four identical needles with long eyes. 51.5mm long, they are the same length as the thicker version (0.91mm thick) but slightly finer - 0.84mm thick - so are suitable for slightly more finely woven fabrics. NB - for the moment, I only have photos of the thick needles, but this listing is definitely for the thin ones!
You may have heard about the special quality of these needles. They are very finely polished, and go through the fabric like a knife through butter! Tulip specialise in manufacturing needles and these really are very special.
0.84mm x 51.5mm x four needles
The needles are packed in a 'test tube' type plastic storage phial, closed with a little cork stopper. Inside is a tiny piece of paper - this is very important, because it is a piece of anti rust paper! Keep it in the phial with your needles, and they will stay bright and rust free.
Good for medium and fine sashiko threads, #12 perlé cotton, #12 coton à broder etc. They are also good needles for stitching boro inspired work, kantha and kawandi (Siddi) quilts.
These are very good quality needles, available in a useful selection of sizes.
Tip - open the box and remove the phial from the bottom - that way, the pretty red thread at the top of the box can stay intact!
