All the thread you need to stitch the 365 sashiko sampler squares from my new book, Sashiko 365, published on 8th November 2022.
This listing is for 6-ply medium thread. I stitched my samples using 4-ply fine sashiko thread, used doubled, but the designs in the book work equally well stitched with a single 6-ply sashiko thread. So if you prefer to stitch sashiko with a single thread, this option is for you! I have selected threads from 100m, 40m and 20m ranges so you have the closest colours to those I used, and can shade through the rainbow.
Medium 6-ply sashiko thread, mercerised and non-mercerised selection - 100m #101 white x 3, #110 pink x 2, #107 light leaf green x 1, #108 light blue x 1; 40m #A5 lavender sage x 2; 20m #25 apricot x 4 and #29 yellow x 3. View the full 100m and 40m range here, and the 20m range here. Remember, use these threads singly, not doubled!
The 40m and 20m threads are from non mercerised ranges, so will seem slightly fluffier and a little softer, but the effect is not noticable after stitching.
Bought individually, these threads would cost £65.88 - pack price 5% off, so you pay just £62.59.
I also used a very small amount of a shaded sashiko thread to stitch some details on the hitomezashi blocks in the first few pages of the pattern directory - Lecien Cosmo Hidamari #89-304. I have not included it in the thread pack because some new multi coloured sashiko threads have been introduced since I stitched the samples, so now there is far more choice! It is optional whether you decide to use any multicoloured threads at all, so if you want to use a multicoloured thread too, please select the one you like separately here.
Sashiko needles - may be used with most of the sashiko needles I sell. I used a pack of 8 Clover needles to stitch my samples. Olympus or Lecien sashiko needles are also perfect.

Sashiko threads skeins have to be opened out before use. Slide of the skein band first. You will find all the thread is tied together at one point. Cut through the skein at the knot, so all the threads are cut (you'll find these are the ideal length for stitching doubled). Push all the thread through the skein band, and then plait the thread loosely. Pull out each thread as you need it from the loop end of the plait, not the 'fringed' end. This saves time trying to wind the thread into a ball, keeps it tidy and you know the thread shade number if you need to re order.
