This is a treasure trove of woven stripes, checks and super thick striped 'chore cloth' (work clothes) fabric fat quarter pieces, designed by Alexia Abegg for Ruby Star Society for Moda.

Twelve of the fabrics are stripes and checks are woven shirtings which are sufficiently fine to be suitable for the most detailed patchwork (some of the stripes have a lovely sateen detail to the narrow stripe), plus seven of the thicker 'chore coat' (work coat) fabrics. The rich blues are complemented by orange russet, yellow and pink, which would give a lovely zap of bright colour to any boro project.

But the chore coat fabrics are really something else! They are woven from threads that are spun with a slightly variable thickness, giving them a lovely hand woven look, and it would be so easy to use the weave to line up your sashiko stitches - or even do a fine version of kogin (I would suggest using a medium sashiko thread for stitching if you want to do kogin details on these, as the regular kogin threads I sell will be a little too thick). It would also make an excellent foundation fabric for stitching appliqué style boro inspired pieces. I have three other chore coat fabrics available as yardage.

A lovely detail of all these fabrics is their lime yellow selvedges - something I would want to feature in a boro inspired work I think (top edge of a bag?)

NB - limited quantities, and I can't reorder these. Once they are gone, they're gone. As these were the last few the wholesalers had, I managed to get them at a special price for you too.
