Jason Yenter's 'Elysian' collection takes it's inspiration from the Elysian Fields of Greek mythology. This beautiful circular design is like looking at splashes in water - if water was purple! Larger 'solid' circles are approx 3in diameter, and filled with flowers, while the pattern surface is scattered with butterflies in stencil outlines, bubble dots, and ripples.

The jewel like colours are digitally printed, so you get all the depth and variation of colour like a batik, but on a fabric base that isn't too tightly woven for hand quilting. It would be great for clothing as well as a patchwork coordinate, or to go with a sashiko panel.I managed to grab a few other designs from this range before they became impossible to get via the wholesalers, so check them out too.
