Five fat quarters, including a rare Japanese cat print by Kona Bay and four faux shibori prints in cool indigo blues make a fresh combination - from Sevenberry’s ‘Sākuru’ range. This is the second of two bundles I’ve made on the same theme - the second bundle has three different faux shibori prints, including one from the ‘Kawa’ range by Debbie Maddy for Moda.
The cat print is so cute, and features cats in various humorous poses, with their names in romaji, and red paw prints. The way they are drawn reminds me of Hokusai’s ‘Manga’ cat illustrations.
I add more bundles on different themes from time to time. It is easier (and more fun for me!) to make these fat quarter bundles in one-off batches, rather than trying to repeat the same fabric assortment, so once these are gone, I will not repeat them. Plus, the cat fabric has been out of print for many years - I was just lucky to find half a bolt if it.
