A fabulous new Japanese-themed collection from In The Beginning fabrics, which I just had to get!
Jason Yenter's 'Oriental Gardens' collection is full of digitally printed jewel-like colours, so you get all the depth and variation of colour like a batik, but on a fabric base that isn't too tightly woven for hand quilting. This is a bold pinkish purple pattern based on the traditional Japanese karakusa (Chinese vine), with stylised chrysanthemums linked by scrolls (first photo), and is available in turquoise blue and old gold too. It would be great for clothing as well as patchwork, or to go with a sashiko panel.
I preordered this range, so we wouldn't miss out! The saturated colours coordinate very well with other Jason Yenter fabrics, and I want to combine these prints with some of the other In The Beginning ranges.
Available as fat quarters, half metres or metres. Fabric will be supplied as a continuous piece whenever possible.
I will be making up some fat quarter bundles too.
