Sakura cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums are scattered with stylised plum blossoms and shippō (seven treasures motifs of overlapped circles) on a black and grey background with metallic accents. The background has overlapping matsukawabishi (pine bark diamond) outlines filled with stripes, diamonds, and kanoko (fawn spot) shibori tie dye spots. Perfect for adding that authentic touch to your Japanese themed project.

Fukui means 'well of good fortune', named after a well called Fuku-no-i (good fortune well) which lends its name to the castle where it is located as well as the prefecture and it's capital city.

I used a lot of these kinds of prints in my books 'Japanese Quilt Blocks to Mix and Match' and 'Japanese Quilt Inspirations', and they aren't so easy to find at the moment, so I'm always pleased when I spot another design I love.
