Sokyo or Sōkyo means something like a heroic undertaking or a grand scheme, and I guess that maybe refers to the number of hexagons in this design!
 
I used a lot of these kinds of prints in my books 'Japanese Quilt Blocks to Mix and Match' and 'Japanese Quilt Inspirations', and they aren't so easy to find at the moment, so I'm always pleased when I spot another design I love.
