Medium 6-ply mercerised sashiko thread 40m skein, shade #52 greens to white, Daruma brand by Yokota, shading from light lime and jade shades to a brighter green. Suitable for all your sashiko and boro stitching. Use doubled for a bolder effect. Can also be used for big stitch quilting.
This mercerised thread is the same weight as the other 100m 6-ply sashiko thread I sell, but has a different colour range. By selecting between these ranges, you can many subtle colour combinations. This shade is also available in
Because it is mercerised, it won't 'shred' or go slightly fluffy when stitching.

This listing is for one skein, but the third photo shows five skeins so you can see how the shading may look slightly different depending how each skein has been wound and packed. Every skein has identically dyed thread.

Sashiko threads skeins have to be opened out before use. Slide of the skein band first. You will find all the thread is tied together at one point. Cut through the skein at the knot, so all the threads are cut (you'll find these are the ideal length for stitching doubled). Push all the thread through the skein band, and then plait the thread loosely. Pull out each thread as you need it from the loop end of the plait, not the 'fringed' end. This saves time trying to wind the thread into a ball, keeps it tidy and you know the thread shade number if you need to re order.
