From the 'Yukata' range by Debbie Maddy for Moda, this patchwork fabric is printed to look like an antique kasuri (double ikat) fabric. 'Kumo' means 'cloud'. Ideal for patchwork, plus lining or backing your sashiko projects. It would make a stunning jacket lining.
I have been lucky enough to get the last available bolts from this range, at a special price too. It coordinates perfectly with Debbie's 2024 range, 'Indigo Blooming'.
NB - limited quantities, and I can't reorder this one!
Genuine old kasuri cottons that look just like this cost an arm and a leg in Japan nowadays, and this makes a very convincing substitute for your patchwork, dressmaking, boro, home dec and other projects. They were expensive fabrics when first produced too, and cheaper faux kasuri stencilled prints were also produced. Patchwork weight cotton.
110cm (43in) wide (approx).
100% cotton
NB - sold by the half metre, so order '1' for a half metre, '2' for one metre etc.
