A fabulous new Japanese-themed collection from In The Beginning fabrics, which I just had to get!
Jason Yenter's 'Oriental Gardens' collection is full of digitally printed jewel-like colours, so you get all the depth and variation of colour like a batik, but on a fabric base that isn't too tightly woven for hand quilting. This fabulous border print with delicate scattered flowers, leaves, fans and cranes on a shaded background in rust (first photo). The border is printed four times across the fabric width, great for mitred or square corners on quilts, wallhangings, cushions, table runners etc. There are green, russet, purple and blue colourways in the collection (there are too many to show here!) It would be great for clothing as well as patchwork, or to go with a sashiko panel.
I preordered this range, so we wouldn't miss out! The saturated colours coordinate very well with other Jason Yenter fabrics, and I want to combine these prints with some of the other In The Beginning ranges.
NB - Sold by the half metre, so order '1' for a half metre', '2' for a metre etc.
I will be making up some coordinating fat quarter bundles too.
